Patchwork Pennant

Pop on over to read the story of this Star of Bethlehem block (English paper pieced and using an Oakshott Fat 8th pack) and see more pics from Jo Avery at myBearpaw,

who said:

“The tassel was made to match. It was a lovely project to work on, as always the Oakshott was a joy to work with, and I particularly like the ‘tab’ hanging loops. This could easily be adapted to make a cushion or a square mini quilt.”

Alternatively, buy the November 2015 issue of Popular Patchwork in which it features!

New Autumn Warmth and Inspiration

Sometimes you need a little warm colour, sometimes you need a little helpful inspiration; we know you’ll find both in our FREE New Autumn Fat 8th booklet. It’s available to download from the Instant Colour page, on the Oakshott Fabrics shop website, and here if you click on the booklet cover:

There are six great quilts (and one tote) to think about making and seven great blogs to read for inspiration and instruction. Download and enjoy!

New Autumn Mosaic

We are mega-excited by the prospect of a new bloghop using Oakshott’s New Autumn Fat Eighths Packs that Lily’s Quilts is running:

The Oakshott Autumn Blog Hop
These colours are so warm and vibrant that they make a mosaic of all the seasons (sorry Stanley*!), which is enough to drive you back to the quilting table to capture all that is best in autumn.
This is a quick peek of the design for  Fabric and Flowers’ Falling Vista lap quilt, visit her blog for the final view and a tutorial.
Autumn Trees Layout
and see more of the large quilt called Autumn Columns produced by Rossie, again with a tutorial.
*(see Stanley Horowitz’ verse: ‘Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting, and autumn a mosaic of them all.)
